Coho Red - Merlot
The deep-red of the spawning Coho salmon signifies the end of an epic journey of ultimate sacrifice for the next generation. In honor of this journey, we give you Coho Red— a proprietary blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec that makes its own journey from sunlight and grape into a finished wine. Made in the style of a "right-bank Bordeaux", this Humboldt County grown wine is bright, red-fruited with a plush, chocolatey mouthfeel. Grown with zero synthetic pesticides or herbicides. Un-fined and unfiltered. Only 350 cases produced.
WINEMAKER'S TASTING NOTES:
The Coho Red is a cool-climate, right-bank style Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is dominated by red fruit notes – a combination of red raspberry and cranberry. It is reminiscent of our local red huckleberry.
